DESIGN
The design can begin in the form of a simple sketch or using other reference material, working with the client to bring ideas together to form a total concept.

Interesting materials that we like to use in combination and work well with concrete are stainless steel, glass, wood and other natural materials.

A site visit is usual at this point (though not always necessary) to enable measurements to be taken and to identify and solve any manufacturing challenges at this early stage. A template is created and taken away. Once the template is created the mould can be made.

MOULDING
Mould or pattern making is a very skilled profession. Each new project requires careful consideration to achieve the best design of the mould for release angles and strength. It can be created from wood, fibreglass, rubber, plastic, metal or any combination of these.

REINFORCEMENT
We use special fibres to reinforce the concrete. Some projects require additional steel for reinforcement to provide additional strength in vulnerable areas or for overhangs.

THE MIX
Our high-performance concrete is an advanced mix formula that incorporates a post-industrial waste product. By making eco-friendly concrete through the use of recycled material, we not only avoid it being land filled, but also reduce CO2 emissions through using less cementitious materials in the concrete mix.

Using natural stone chips in the concrete mix such as quartz or granite, we can create Terrazzo, a popular surface in Europe first developed in Italy several centuries ago. By grinding down to expose the stone chips, it creates an elegant and refined smooth surface.

Once broken from the mould the new concrete product is then ground and/or polished to the required level, then sealed to resist staining.

GRINDING & POLISHING
We can grind the surface with graded diamond pads to expose the stone chips to achieve a Terrazzo finish.

When the required look is achieved we move on to the graded diamond polishing pads. These pads can polish the surface of the concrete to a smooth finish.

SURFACE SEALING
Concrete is a porous material for which we use a sealer specially designed for countertops. It is highly resistant to staining from water, oils and other foodstuffs. The sealer enhances the natural beauty of concrete and is safe for food preparation areas.

DELIVERY & FITTING
Once completed we can deliver and install the product or alternatively the client can organize collection and installation by a third party.

PROJECT DURATION
The average duration for projects is 4 - 6 weeks. The duration is largely dependent on the size and complexity of the specific project and the number of projects we are handling at the time. As with any business we have maximum number of projects we can handle at the same time. Due to this we must operate on a first come first served basis.
